Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• do not park in the kiss and drop area - this is designed to have continuous moving traffic for collecting and dropping off students
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school
• do not park in the bus stop area
• Parking can be in Gunn Drive (across from front of school) or Peter Hastie Oval (side gate)
• follow speed signs

Kiss + Drop

• Only students who are being collected by car using the ‘Kiss and Drop’ bay can exit the front gate.
• Parents must NOT exit their vehicle to collect their child.
• Cars in ‘Kiss and Drop’ must move to the front of the queue, past the wall. You don’t have to sight your child. Please don’t stop directly at the front of the school if there are vacant car spaces further along the queue, as this causes congestion.
• Cars must have their vehicle number clearly displayed for the duty teacher to see. If you don’t have a vehicle number, please contact the office.
• Students must board the vehicle from the curb/passenger side of the vehicle.
• Students must display their family vehicle number on their backpack using the ring provided and learn their family number. This is to be reinforced at home please.
• The road rules clearly state that there is no right turn out of the ‘Kiss and Drop’ lane at the front of the school. To avoid being fined please follow the road rules. While we are trying to implement this process to ensure safety and decrease the traffic congestion, the ‘Kiss and Drop’ at the front of the school is only going to run smoothly if we all follow the process.
